While SRAM and Hope both use alternatives fluids in their factory, Maxima are the exclusive manufacturing partner of SRAM's Mineral Oil which gives you an idea of Maxima's quality. Like all Maxima products, this fluid is 100% Made in USA.
We recommend buying DOT Fluid in small quantity containers even if you are planning to bleed a few brakes a year as DOT Fluid is hygroscopic, meaning it will begin to absorb moisture from the minute you break the factory seal. This absorption of moisture leads to a reduction in boiling point, which in turn leads to a reduction in brake power, especially on long down hill runs.
